The Sandwich Loop is the new trail named as such because there is White Bread beginner skiing in the start and end sections. The middle is where the skiing is dicey and exciting. Twisty turny downhills through the pines. Very roughly packed, icy ridges, not tracked. The short and sweet hilly loop behind the Outhouse was well groomed and tracks set for fun and easy skiing through the hardwoods. Not intended for skating but plenty of room to get out of the tracks for herringbone or snowplowing. Just barely above zero, clean white slow snow!

County groomer reported tracks are now set in the new snow over ice base.

County groomer reported he had packed twice, so I thought it would be perfect for skate skiing. But last week inch of fresh snow and the melt down left catchy crust for skate skiing. Classic skiers made their own tracks in the one inch of snow over the packed base.
No bare spots, just fast snow! Pretty daunting on the downhill behind the outhouse. I did not go up, not wanting to come down!
